One product video
The easy first yes, for her best seller or the HD version of your sample.

Enter the store's URL. Reelshop finds the products with no video, makes the video from the product's own photos, looks for the owner's email and writes your pitch. Send your sample with a picture of their page with the video in it, then offer to make more.

The first message
You know the kind of store. A candle shop with forty products, good photos, and a product page where nothing moves.
You can picture a short video of her best seller: the candle up close, the label, the price at the end. But she hasn't seen that video. She has only seen your message:
"Hi, I make product videos for online stores. Would you be interested?"
Before she can answer, she has questions. What would the video look like? Would she have to ship you a product? How much time would it take her?
Your message asks her to consider buying a video without showing her what she would get.
Proof before pitch
Same store, same owner. This time your first message includes a short video of her own product, made from her photos, with her price on the end card.
She can watch it in a few seconds and tell you whether she would use it. You have already answered the question of what her video could look like.
We call this Proof Before Pitch: show a store what you can make by making a sample for it. If she likes the sample, you can talk about the next videos, for a new collection, a sale, or every new product she adds.
The gap
Before launch I ran Reelshop on five well-known Shopify stores, selling shoes, make-up, watches, coffee and bedding, and checked 36 product pages on each. On 112 of those 180 pages, about 6 in 10, a shopper sees photos and no video.
The stores were very different. Some big brands already use video: the shoe store had a video on 27 of its 36 pages. The make-up store had one on only 4. The coffee brand had none at all, on any of the 36 pages checked.
That is why Reelshop shows you exactly which pages have a video and which don't. You only pitch stores with a real gap, and you skip the ones that already have it covered. The best stores to send samples to are small, owner-run ones, where the person who reads your email is the person who decides.
The cost of making a sample
Making a sample by hand means downloading the product photos, cutting them to vertical, writing a few lines, adding a voice, music and captions, putting the price at the end, and then looking for someone's email. All before you know whether the owner is interested.
Repeat that for ten stores and you have done ten production jobs before winning a paying client.
Reelshop does that production inside one tool. It reads the store, picks the product's best four photos, writes the script from the product's own description, and makes the video with voice, music, captions and an end card showing the product, its real price and the store's web address.
From product page to video
This sample uses the photos of a $25 limited-edition cap from the coffee brand's store, where none of the 36 pages I checked had a video. Compare the photos with the finished video, then play it with the sound on.
This cap is not loud.
Look at that stitched skull patch.
Snapback closure keeps your fit locked in.
Grab it before this run is gone.
You can edit the photos and the script before making your own video.

Before and after
Reelshop takes a screenshot of the store's real product page and puts your video where the main photo sits. You get both side by side, to attach to your email or send in a message.
The owner sees her own page, her own product and her own price, already looking the way she has probably wanted it to.

No filming or timeline editing
Reelshop reads the catalogue, up to 1,000 products, and checks 36 product pages for video. If you paste a product link, that product is checked first. Each checked product shows whether a shopper sees a video on its page.
Each product shows its price and photo count. It needs at least four photos, and Reelshop only uses that product's own photos. Sold-out products carry a badge.
Check the four lines of script and change anything you like. Draft changes are free. Then render the 12-second vertical video.
Copy the pitch Reelshop wrote, add the video link and the before/after, and send it from your own email.
One pair of shoes might be about grip, another about comfort, a candle about its scent notes or its gift box. Swap a photo or rewrite a line so the video leads with the detail you think the owner is proudest of. You see the draft before you pay for a render, so you can fix a detail first. Each finished video is an MP4 you can download and deliver. Changes after that need another render and use more credits.
Some Shopify stores keep their product list private. When that happens, Reelshop tells you, and you try the next store.
Contact details included
A sample only helps if you can get it to someone at the store. Reelshop looks for a person's address first, such as a founder or manager, and shows you the other addresses it found, each with its status. A "catch-all domain" status means the store's mail server accepts every address, so that email can't be confirmed before you send.
With the pitch you also get two follow-ups, for day 3 and day 7. Owner emails aren't always available. You may get a general address or no result, so check the store's contact page before you send.
Commercial use included
Your first prospect will want to see examples. Choose a kind of product you know, such as candles, coffee or jewellery, and make a small set of samples from real stores. When you contact a candle shop, you can show candle videos. The portfolio guide walks you through ten samples in two days.
If you build Shopify stores, run ads or write product emails, your clients already need product video. Make a sample for one of their products and offer video alongside the work you already do.
Next to every video, Reelshop gives you a simple price sheet to quote from once the owner says yes. It never goes in the first email.
The easy first yes, for her best seller or the HD version of your sample.
For a new collection, a sale, or the ten products she wants to push in ads.
Stores add products all the time, and every new product page starts with no video. Most stores will start with one video, and this offer comes after they have seen a few.
Change the prices to fit your market. Exported videos carry no Reelshop branding, and you can deliver the files to your clients.
If you own a Shopify store yourself, you can make these videos for your own product pages too.
A note from Bertrand
BertrandMaker of Youzign, Dezygn, Reelocal & Reelshop
I'm Bertrand, a software maker from a small village in Belgium. You may know me from Youzign or Dezygn. I also sell AI product visuals to online stores, mostly on Upwork, where my first $80 job grew into monthly retainers and a $2,500 contract. I once posted a job as a client, and 39 of the 40 proposals I got opened with the same template. When I sent proposals the usual way, I sent 63 and got 2 hires. When I started attaching samples I had already made for the client's own product, I got 1 hire from 6.
Making a sample takes time, though. I built Reelocal to make video samples for local businesses, and Reelshop is the same idea for the stores I know best. A Shopify store already has what a good sample needs: clean product photos, a description written by the owner and a real price.

Before you get started
Yes. You paste a store's URL and review the photos and script before rendering. There is no timeline editor. The portfolio guide helps you build samples before you have client work.
Most of them. Some stores keep their product list private, and Reelshop tells you when that happens. Sites that are not on Shopify do not work.
It looks for the owner's email first, but it can't always find one. It writes the pitch and two follow-ups. You review them and send them yourself.
In my five test runs, with no pauses for editing, it took about two minutes from pasting the store to the finished video and the before/after. Allow more time when you edit the script.
Up to 25 samples at 480p, or 12 HD videos at 768p, or a mix from the same balance.
You are making a sample for the store from its own photos and offering it to that store. Get the store's agreement before you deliver paid work, and don't publish a sample elsewhere without permission.
A sample is a 12-second vertical video at 480p for 10 credits. It is what you send to the store. HD is the same video at 768p for 20 credits. It is the file you deliver when the store pays.
You can change the photos and script freely before rendering. After that, a change needs a new render and uses credits again. Downloading a finished file again is free.
Store Finder finds Shopify stores in the niche you choose and shows each store's contact email and how many of its products have no video. Your purchase includes 10 lookups so you can try it. A lookup is used only when a store has a contact email; stores without one are listed free. You can add more lookups later if you want them.
